Danny Burns
Danny graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a bachelor’s degree in both Accounting and Finance. Before joining Fine Point Consulting, Danny began his career in public accounting at Baker Tilly in Madison, WI. In his spare time, Danny enjoys playing golf, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Danny is excited to use his prior experiences to help clients with their specific needs and continue to help them succeed.

Danny is a partner at Fine Point Consulting, bringing expertise in strategic financial leadership, business advisory, and scalable growth solutions for high-growth companies. He works closely with founders and leadership teams to drive financial clarity, operational efficiency, and long-term business success.
His career began in public accounting at Baker Tilly in Madison, Wisconsin, where he worked as an auditor on the firm’s Professional Services team, specializing in SaaS and technology clients. In that role, Danny developed deep expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, revenue recognition, and the operational complexities that come with scaling fast-growing companies.
What makes Danny’s story especially unique is that his connection to Fine Point Consulting started long before he officially joined the team. In 2014, while attending the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, Danny became Fine Point’s very first intern. That early experience gave him a firsthand look at the firm’s entrepreneurial culture and hands-on approach to client service. After gaining valuable experience in public accounting, he returned to Fine Point in September 2020, bringing with him a strong technical accounting foundation and a passion for helping businesses better understand their financial picture.
Today, Danny works closely with clients across a variety of industries, helping businesses better understand and leverage their financials. His expertise includes financial advisory services, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and scalable finance operations. He is especially passionate about helping growing companies build strong financial processes that support long-term success without losing agility along the way.
As part of Fine Point’s leadership team, Danny plays an active role in supporting the firm’s continued growth and evolution while fostering the collaborative, relationship-driven culture that defines FPC. He values building trusted partnerships with clients and approaches his work in a way that is practical and impactful.
Outside of work, Danny enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his wife Nicole, their son Vinny, and their golden retriever Charlie.

My journey with Fine Point Consulting began in 2014, when I joined the firm as its first-ever intern while attending the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. After starting my career in public accounting, I returned to Fine Point in 2020 as a Controller. Over the following years, I continued to grow with the firm, transitioning into a director role before becoming a Partner in January 2023 as part of the company’s ownership transition. Today, I enjoy getting to remain closely connected to some client work while also helping shape the long-term vision and direction of Fine Point.
