Full Bio

Heather Nathan is the Director of Digital Strategy & Solutions at Fine Point Consulting, where she helps organizations strengthen financial operations through scalable processes, sharper systems, and thoughtful innovation. With over a decade of experience spanning accounting leadership, controller services, and CFO-level advisory, Heather has spent her career partnering with the people behind growing businesses - from early-stage founders to established leadership teams - as they navigate increasing financial complexity and build the infrastructure to support it. She brings an operator’s mindset to the intersection of finance, technology, and business growth.

Across various industries, including e-commerce, SaaS, biotech, construction, manufacturing, and nonprofit, Heather has led financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow strategy, internal controls, and finance process design for businesses at every stage of growth. She is especially skilled at helping organizations move from reactive finance operations to disciplined, decision-ready environments, and has served as a long-term finance partner with companies scaling from early-stage revenue through eight figures and beyond, evolving their systems and processes to keep pace with the business at each stage.

Heather’s approach to digital transformation is grounded in practicality, not hype. She evaluates every tool through the lens of whether it genuinely solves a problem – while keeping the focus on creating more space for analysis, strategy, and the client relationships that drive meaningful outcomes. Working cross-functionally across the firm, she is equally invested in building a culture where curiosity is encouraged, and experimentation is part of the process - helping finance professionals move beyond repetitive work and into the higher-value thinking that keeps them engaged and growing.

Outside of work, Heather considers motherhood her greatest accomplishment. She also enjoys traveling to country concerts, reading, and making time for herself amidst the busyness of life.

History with Fine Point Consulting

Heather joined Fine Point Consulting in March 2022 as an Assistant Controller, bringing prior experience leading accounting teams, managing broad client portfolios, and supporting businesses through periods of growth and operational complexity.

She was promoted to Controller within her first year, where she oversaw month-end close quality across client engagements, prepared financial statement packages, managed multi-subsidiary and multi-entity reporting, and worked closely with the internal tax department on client strategy. As her client relationships deepened, her work naturally expanded into forecasting, cash flow planning, and supporting reporting needs during acquisitions and funding rounds. Her promotion to Director of Assurance followed in early 2024, expanding her scope to firm-wide quality and process oversight.

Throughout this progression, Heather was simultaneously exploring how AI and workflow automation could improve both internal operations and client outcomes. Her early work demonstrated that thoughtfully implemented tools could meaningfully enhance speed, consistency, and scalability - without losing the human judgment that defines strong advisory work. That impact ultimately led Fine Point to create the Director of Digital Strategy & Solutions role in late 2025 - a position that hadn’t existed before and was built around the results she was already delivering.

Today, Heather sits on the executive team and works cross-functionally across every department at the firm. Four roles in just over four years reflects her ability to consistently drive impact beyond the scope of any single position - and Fine Point’s willingness to invest in the people who push the firm forward.
